Korean President Jun Sok-jol had a large delegation of researchers with him during his visit to the Czech Republic in September. On Friday, September 20, the joint Korea-Czech Republic Industry & Energy Technology Cooperation Forum 2024 took place in the President Hotel in the center of Prague, with the participation of the following entities: Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE), Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), Korean Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP), KEIT (Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology), Korea Development Institute (KDI), Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO), Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA ČR), research and academic institutions, businesses and others.
The aim of the forum is to share technological trends and policies in the field of industry and energy and to strengthen cooperation through the Economic Innovation Partnership Program (EIPP) focusing on the field of advanced technologies between Korea and the Czech Republic.
Pavel Peterka had the opportunity to present the research of ÚFE, as one of the seven selected Czech workplaces, especially the research infrastructure of fiber lasers and fiber optic technology. The Memorandum of Understanding between ÚFE and the KOPTI institute from Kwangju, signed with the participation of the ministers of industry of both countries, provides an opportunity for cooperation in the development of pulsed fiber lasers for the semiconductor industry.
