On 13 December, Michal Kamrádek, this year's winner of the Otto Wichterle Prize, organized a seminar on „Novel glass materials and spectroscopy for high-power fiber lasers beyond 2 μm”. The seminar was held as part of a mobility project between the ÚFE research team Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics and the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology in Jena in Thüringen (IPHT).
The presentations were very well received and sparked a lively discussion, as the topic of materials research for power fiber lasers is highly topical in terms of both fundamental research and practical applications. The seminar was attended by more than 30 participants, including partners from the Czech Optical Cluster.
