Development of industrial nanosecond fiber laser with high pulse energy and high average power

Provider: Technologická agentura ČR

Principal recipient: Ing. Pavel Dvořáček - Narran, s r. o.

Co-investigator at ÚFE: Dr. Ing. Pavel Honzátko

Project number: FW10010394

Project acronym: DFL

From: 1 January 2024

To: 1 June 2026

The project goal is development of pulsed ytterbium fiber laser in MOPA configuration with an average power of 400 W at least, pulse energy of >40 mJ and variable pulse duration and shape in range 10-300 ns with multimode beam. This kind of laser is the most expensive component of the laser cleaning system ROD 500 developed by Narran. Narran's motivation is to raise competitive ability and gain control over the production and supply of the key component so as to secure against market and political risks. We would also be the first to design and commercially manufacture such a laser in Czechia incl. the active fiber. Project result is a functional sample of advanced active ytterbium fibers and functional prototype of the laser source tested in laser cleaning system ROD 500.

This project Development of sensors for the detection of hydrogen and carbon monoxide in the energy and automotive industry is co-financed by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic as part of the TREND Program. This project is funded within the National Recovery Plan from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility.
