Doc. RNDr. Miroslav Miler, DrSc., former researcher and long-time member of the research team Fiber Lasers and Nonlinear Optics, received an award for promotion and development of standardization from the Czech Agency for Standardization.
Miroslav Miler has been active in the Commission for Terminology in Physics within the Union of Czechoslovak and then Czech Mathematicians and Physicists since the 1970s, and later headed it. In the new millennium he started to work for what is now called the Office for Technical Standardization, Metrology and State Testing. He became a member of TNK 127 Solar Energy and Lasers and his active work covers both issues: the safety of working with optical radiation and laser devices and their terminology, as well as the Czech terminology of solar photovoltaic energy systems. Miroslav Miler is known for his meticulousness and his drive for maximum perfection and accuracy. He has also contributed to the development of international standards. He was accepted as a member of the commission for concentrator photovoltaic systems.
We would like to congratulate Miroslav Miler for the award and thank him for his excellent representation of our Institute and of course the Czech photonics and optoelectronics community.
