This year, Josef Kučera joined the Open Science project, which offers young science enthusiasts the opportunity to try their own research. As part of this project, he works with the Synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials research team at IPE, where he participates in the current research of the growth of ZnO nanotubes in cooperation with our employees. He works with an electron microscope equipped with an ion beam, a gas precursor system, and a nanomanipulator, which allows him to display and examine properties on a nanometer scale, thereby influencing nanotube growth conditions.
Josef created a video about his experience and it looks like he is truly enjoying his work...
Josef is also the author of a book called Nanotechnology games (Nanotechnologie hrou), with which he is participating in the national round of the SOČ competition.
You can read more about his work on his webpage www.svetbudoucnosti.cz
""I will graduate from Mensa Grammar school this year and after graduation I'm going to MATFYZ. I would like to become a polyhistorist of today, because I am interested in science and social sciences, and I like to find connections between them. Among my interests, besides science, is also the study of archaic languages and Latin. I love science with all my heart and I believe that science help us overcome the problems of our contemporary civilization. I would like to contribute to solving global warming and the energy crisis of the 21st century. I dream about a society that finds both a social and environmental balance. If you wish to contact me, you can do so via e-mail: pepan@svetbudoucnosti.cz. "
